"BE the LIGHT” Literacy Blitz: Annual Family Literacy Event, March 1-5
Each year at ELUES we are proud to host a family literacy event to encourage our students and families to read together. Taking time each day to read or engage in a literacy activity as a family can improve your child's literacy skills, and yours too! Families play an important role in encouraging reading for fun, and your reading behaviours as a parent influence your child's attitude towards reading and future habits. This year we have made a few changes, including partnering with JS McCormick School to share some of our favourite stories.
Details of our week-long event are included in the schedule below. Please take time to participate in the "home" activities with your family each day.
*Students will also be encouraged to dress in bright neon colors and bring flashlights on Monday to kick off the event, and then dress up as their favourite story character on Friday.
